Amazon has unveiled a new version of its Kindle e-reader, aimed at reading newspapers, magazines and documents.

Amazon Kindle DXThe version of Amazon’s Kindle eBook reader, the Kindle DX is a larger format device which has been developed especially for reading electronic versions newspapers. The Kindle DX will be two and a half times large than the existing Kindle.

Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos said at the New York launch.

The new device will incorporate a PDF reader and Amazon have also announced deals with the New York Times, Washington Post and the Boston Globe; as well as three leading text book publishers to make their content available on the new device.
